When I originally spoke with Nicole and Bradey I knew that this Wedding was going to be special. They are so linked in the Northern Michigan community with family and friends. The Wedding Party was going to be HUGE and it was a detail specific Wedding. I was honored that they chose Paul Retherford Wedding Photography.
The day of the Northern Michigan Wedding was beautiful! We were so blessed with how everything turned out. Nicole was stunning and Bradey was handsome too. Nicole and Bradey were married at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alpena, Michigan. After the Wedding, we were allowed private access to a large antique wooden lodge. It was incredible. The Wedding Party rented Mackinaw City Trolley for their transportation. The Reception was located in Posen, Michigan at the Community Center.
Nicole’s Flowers were beautiful. They were a large bunch of Orchids. Just perfect! Her dress was so preciously beaded too and reflected the light. Oh, and the green shoes, loved them! You would have never guessed that this was a small town Northern Michigan Wedding.
The Wedding Party had 26 total people included! It as large but it was just that more fun. Everyone added their own bit of personality during the Wedding day. So glad everyone was there, and I thank all the Wedding Party for their positive attitudes during the day.

Bright colors are a wonderful way to add a little spice to your Wedding day. Consider using bright accent colors or maybe some umbrellas like these paper umbrellas above. I love to dress in the colors of the Wedding day so that I will blend in with the surroundings. A lot of Wedding Photographers will dress in black and this will clash and stand out with certain colors. All your vendors and guests should know what you like so that they have the opportunity to dress according to the colors that you love.
Lake Michigan is one of the most scenic shorelines for having a beach Wedding in Michigan. The sand dunes and sandy beaches along the Lake Michigan shoreline afford for a beautiful soft Wedding composition.
