Mackinac Island Wedding The Inn at Stonecliffe

Friday I was blessed again to spend the afternoon on Mackinac Island, Michigan for a Wedding at The Inn at Stonecliffe.  Amy and Charlie are two cool cats!  We had a great time together.   Amy is an absolute beauty, and Charlie is a handsome lad as well. When I arrived to the Wedding the clouds were thick and the overcast and it looked like rain.  But, oh no, my friend, the clouds cleared and Amy and Charlie’s beautiful smile beamed during the day. The couple is from Chicago, Illinois and planned this beautiful destination wedding on Mackinac Island, Michigan.  Amy had an idea in her head what she wanted on her Wedding day and her matron of honor, Tara, from Invitations by Design, helped her dream come true.   Tara’s designs and over-the-top details added that special touch to Amy and Charlie’s Wedding day.  You can see a bunch of the products that Tara produced in the slideshows below.  Anything on paper Tara did and will do for you too.  Call her and let her design your invitations, programs, signs, speech cards, seating chart, menus, thank yous, or anything you can imagine.

The Wedding theme for the day was Mackinac Island and bicycles.  They had bicycles on their Wedding cake and lots of bicycles on the signs and details.  The Wedding cake was designed by Bella e Dolce and was stunning.

The Reverand Brian Tuttle was the officiant for the ceremony.

The beautiful flowers were by St. Ignace Greenhouse.  They had beautiful flower bouquets and boutinerres. Kristin and Andrew are Married!  They had originally planned on 100 people or less and when they said they were getting married on beautiful Mackinac Island the plans changed quickly, everyone wanted to come.  The end result…180 guests!  All the people added a little flair to the day and it brightened up the rainy skies. It was great to see a family and a group of friends come together to celebrate after a tragic loss of a father.  What a whirlwind this family has been through but they made the day shine!   Thank you for being so willing to have fun and experiment even with the on and off rain and wet grounds. The Wedding was at The Little Stone Church on Mackinac Island, Michigan, a Michigan Historic site, at 2pm with the reception following at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, Michigan

Wedding The Grand Hotel Porch Mackinac Island, Mi

Beautiful porch Wedding at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan in Northern Michigan.  Abbie and Gary were fabulous, beautiful, and perfect!  The day started out with heavy overcast and opened wide up for a bright sunny afternoon and evening.  The Wedding took place on the Porch of The Grand Hotel on the West end.  A large section of the Porch was reserved for the Wedding and the drinks and orderves to follow.  People were sitting on The Grand Hotel Porch watching the Wedding take place from a distance. The Wedding began with a processional down the entire length of the Porch with the bagpiper Gregor MacGregor.  It was a fantastic show for everyone involved.  It brought tears to the eyes of the family as the bride followed behind in her beautiful white Wedding dress.  My hair on my arms stood up too. Marti Haines does a great job for The Grand Hotel as their Wedding Coordinator.  She was in contact with me and briefed me on everything as the day progressed.  Thank you very much Marti for your help and professionalism.  You can contact Marti by calling The Grand Hotel at 1.800.33.GRAND. Kelly and her crew from Margaret’s Garden did just a perfect job on the flowers for the day.  Since this was an intimate Wedding the bride and groom had flowers for everyone attending.  Margaret’s Garden also did the centerpieces for the Pioneer Room dinner.  All of the flowers were fresh and they smelled wonderful!

The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island is just a perfect location for your Wedding.  There are plenty of Wedding locations on the premise for you to choose from.  They can accommodate both large and small Weddings.  This particular Grand Hotel Porch Wedding had a total of 14 people.  They had the Pontiac Room for a small dinner in the evening.  My time with them was from before the Wedding until the middle of the horse carriage ride around Mackinac Island.  You can contact The Grand Hotel at the number and website below.

Cross in the Woods | Emmet County Fairgrounds

Erin and Jon are Married!  What a lovely Wedding Ceremony at The Cross in the Woods in Indian River and Wedding Reception at Emmet County Fairgrounds in Petoskey, Michigan.  The combination of the two locations makes for a perfect day. Since the rains had just subsided and the skies had not totally cleared the Wedding Ceremony was held inside the church at The Cross in the Woods instead of outdoors where the couple had originally planned.  This is one huge advantage with this Wedding location because both spots are just perfect! The skies opened up and we made our way to East Park on Lake Michigan and then to Bay Harbor, Michigan where there was a Car and Boat show happening.  We had a little bit of time for some fun with the camera and the Wedding party. The Emmet County Fairgrounds facility is perfect for a Wedding Reception and the craftman style building is a cool design with lots of room.  All the vendors enjoyed their time at the Emmet County Fairgrounds facility.
